Youth Squad (2024-2025 season)
Our programme that keeps young people progressing in sailing. The youth squad is for STARLING and ILCA sailors and includes weekly coaching and a series of clinics, plus match racing, teams racing and foiling opportunities. There is also a coach development pathway for sailors in the youth squad.

About the Event
The Youth Squad is run by Yachting New Zealand qualified coaches with coachingĀ provided during Term 4 and Term 1 on Tuesdays and through a series of specific clinics organised for and with the group of sailors throughout the season. The youth squad programme includes match racing and teams racing components which are organised in intesive blocks at different times during the season. In addition the Youth Squad participates in a range of youth development opportunities such as learning how to coach, how to drive coach boats, how to operate VHF radios and learning about sailing first aid. The plan is to add a wingfoiling component to the youth squad programme in 2024-2025 season.
Coaching is provided for Starling and ILCA sailors. The cost is $175 for coaching before Christmas and $175 for coaching after Christmas.
