Our programme that gets young people into regatta sailing. Once you have graduated from the Blue Fleet then this is your next step. The sailors own OPTIMIST or P CLASS is used.

About the Event
The Junior Race Squad is run by Yachting New Zealand qualified coaches with coaching provided Optimist and P Class sailors during Term 4 and Term 1 on Tuesdays with supported training on Thursdays. Coaches also review sailors racing on Saturday afternoons and use this to provide feedback on next steps for both coaching and training. The Junior Race Squad programme also includes a series of school holiday clinics through out the season aimed at building sailor confidence and competence to compete in the Interislander regatta (Opti green fleet and open fleet) and the National Championships (Opti green fleet, open fleet and P Class)
The cost is $175 for coaching before Christmas and $175 for coaching after Christmas.
